Lovely runner episode 5

LOVELY RUNNER EPISODE 5 RECAP

The episode begins with Sol and Sunjae returning home. Sol asks Sunjae how he found her; he explains that he saw her asleep on the bus and misses her stop. 

Sol wonders whether Sunjae and her had ever met before, considering that they are neighbors. He responds that she once mistook him for a delivery boy and gave him an umbrella because of the rain.

The following morning, Sol enthusiastically calls Sunjae's name and wakes up him up to show him the rainbow. The rainbow was not visible to Sunjae, so Sol pours some water, generating rain.

However, while attempting to flee from her mother, her bra slips into his balcony by accident. Sol was ashamed when Sunjae returned the bra to her. She claims the pink bra belongs to her grandmother.

Sol protects Sunjae from a speeding bike on the way to school. She gives him a capsule, which they bury together and promise to meet on January 1st, 2023 to open it.

Sol hopes Sunjae remembers the date and meets with her so she can change his fate, as it was the day he died.

At school, the teacher was punishing students who did not wear proper uniforms. Sunjae immediately passes his tie to Sol, who has forgotten her tie. Taesung witnesses this and becomes envious.

Sunjae and Taesung get punished and ordered to run a few laps. Both become competitive while running, and Sunjae wins.

The 2008 Olympics are taking place, and Sunjae's father attempts to watch the match while hiding from Sunjae out of consideration.

Sol also invites Sunjae to a movie to divert him from watching the Olympics. On the way, she attempts to divert him by viewing the Olympics news and puts headphones on the bus to avoid hearing the announcement.

However, during the film, a false fire alarm rings and they rush outside. Sunjae notices people watching the Olympics on a giant screen and joins them.

Sunjae celebrates when he sees South Korea win the gold medal. He assured Sol that he is OK and does not regret swimming because it brings him a lot of enjoyment. 

On their back, Sunjae informs Sol about his decision to attend upcoming national exam, and Sol offers to help with his study.

The next day, Sol went to the police station and received her lost wallet but could not find her phone. The police were dealing with a murder case that occurred at the same spot where Sol was attacked by a drunk man. 

She goes to the crime scene and recalls an incident after hearing the sound of a jiggling key. A man was seen walking towards his cab, holding Sol's missing phone.

Sunjae meets Geum while watching the Olympic Games. Geum remembers Sun-jae as the man who brought a drunk Im Sol home and started pestering him.

Sol stops Geum as soon as she sees them. Geum appreciates Taesung and expresses his preference for him because he helped them during the fire disaster. Sunjae becomes jealous.

Later, Sunjae stalks Taesung's social media but unexpectedly receives a gift for being his 100,000th visitor. Tae-sung notices this and instantly texts Sun-jae, teasing him. 

Sol goes out to learn how to ride a bicycle; Sunjae notices her and offers to help. He claims to have the patience and composure to teach her but scolds her for losing her balance. She also lashes back at him. Finally, she manages to balance the bicycle.

Hyuk asks Sunjae to help him choose an outfit for the performance. Sunjae saw an outfit identical to Taesung and bought it to impress Sol.

Meanwhile, Tae Sung meets Sol and invites her to attend his band perform. Sunjae runs into them while wearing the same attire as Taesung. Both competed to impress Sol, but Sol was more interested in Sunjae. 

At the concert, the band's lead vocalist did not make it, so Hyuk requested Sunjae to perform in his place. Sunjae cautiously entered the stage and started singing.

Sol was surprised to see Sunjae and became emotional watching him perform. Taesung notices that she has her sights primarily on Sunjae.

After the concert, she saw Mr Kim talking  with Sunjae and rushes to them. Unfortunately she falls down and they are gone by the time she gets up..

She waits for Sunjae in front of his house. Sunjae is happy to meet her and gifts her the phone he won at the concert. Unfortunately, she gets mad because he sings to gift her phone.

She asks him to be selfish and not worry about others, even herself. He goes away angrily after assuring her she is free to do anything she wants with the phone.

The next day, Sol was walking, listening to her iPod, when she came across a recording of that drunken night when Sunjae revealed his feelings. She was startled to learn that Sunjae likes her.

Sunjae comes up and stands in front of her just as she is about to go into traffic. He informed Sol that he would become selfish and asked her to break up with Taesung.
